My 12 year old self was screaming with delight at all the spooky parts, My 44 year old self wasn’t scared but remembering how creepy this was when I was younger was fun. It leaves you wondering who is “haunting” Martha. The story was a good old fashioned ghost story haunted house. I also sort of wanted Martha to like him, like him but that might be weird Conor (Martha’s Stepbrother) was weird, like really weird and I liked him. Martha hates her new life but I liked Martha, she had a little anxiety but who could blame her moving into a super weird house with her dad and his new family. Still fun to read and still a little bit creepy, if you are reading it on a stormy night, sitting in a car waiting for your daughter to finish cheerleading. I was looking for Nostalgia from when I was younger and this book was perfect. I was glad that I forgot who the killer was at the end because I actually guessed wrong until it got closer to the end and I remembered who it was. This ebook features an illustrated biography of Richie Tankersley Cusick including rare photos and never-before-seen documents from the author's personal collection.I read a LOT of point horror book when I was younger and this one was one of my favorites. When Conor and Martha's parents leave town on their honeymoon, the two teens will find out why the dead don't rest easy at the old Bedford house.
